Nothing is Impossible

Nothing is Impossible

"Some people exchange God's plan for fear; they abandon God's wonderful plan for a feeling! Be real, in accordance with God's plan. The waverer gets nothing. Real faith is establishment. How can I get it? Abide under the shadow of the Almighty! Don't change. Remain in the presence of God, the glory of God. Pay the price to abide under that covering. The secret to victory is to abide where victory abides." - Smith Wigglesworth

As you read on, I want you to think about what is really impossible for God. The God who created the universe and everything in it. The God that knew you before you were born. The God that knows the number of hairs on your head. The God that gives eternal life to those who are humble enough to acknowledge that Jesus died for their sins. And wants to show them a life and a hope so grand! We live in a world and society where we limit ourselves to what we can touch, see, or feel. Anything slightly out of the ordinary might seem impossible. Yet, there are far less miraculous things that are happening in the world we live in from day to day. The world is full of incredible stories where ordinary people overcame otherwise impossible feats. But often credit it to fate or some other invisible force known as "luck". I am here to tell you about a man named Jesus who said that with God all things are possible to those that believe. This statement is also backed by a guarantee that we can confidently know that whatever we ask for in His name, we shall have it as Sons and Daughters of God.

"There is no limitation when you place your faith in God." - Smith Wigglesworth

Faith is a mindset that says "God I trust you; I know you! I take you at your Word!". When your head meets your heart and you begin to hang on every word of God, you realize that all things are truly possible with Him! During Jesus' ministry in the Gospels, a centurion man sent some of his friends to Jesus. He had a servant who was very sick. He did not go to Jesus himself for he thought himself unworthy to be present. But he sent a message along with his friends stating that he knew Jesus could just say the words, and his servant would be healed. That's like needing chemotherapy for cancer and instead, you just leave a voicemail at the hospital front desk asking if the doctor can just say "be healed" out loud. That's essentially what Jesus did! But what I find more interesting was Jesus response to the centurion's faith. The Bible says that Jesus was amazed! He declared that He had not seen that kind of faith in all of Israel. Let me go a step further and say that this centurion man may have never met Jesus prior to this. And may have never met him after. We don't know as the Bible doesn't really say. He probably knew of Jesus reputation in the miracle business. How much more should we, who trust God to give us eternal life, believe in God's ability to do the impossible?

"The Lord has one great plan, and that is to reveal to us that we are so much greater than we know; you are a thousand times greater than you have any idea of. The Word of the Lord will reveal that all things are possible if you will dare to believe, and that signs and wonders are within reach of all of us." - Smith Wigglesworth

Let's not forget the woman who had some kind of internal bleeding issue for twelve years prior to an encounter with Jesus. What's even better is that she encountered him when he was in route to raise a dead girl back to life. This story is a huge illustration of faith being "worked out". As the Bible describes the massive crowd that was pressing in on Jesus. These people followed him by the thousands! They were desperate for him! Then there was this woman, who pressed her way through the masses. Just to reach out and barely touch Jesus' clothing. Because she thought to herself, "If I can just touch him I will be healed!". I don't want to pass over the importance of what this one story teaches us. This woman who, like the centurion, probably never met Jesus prior; sought him out in a place where he was very hard to get too. What's more, she was sick with her infirmity. The Bible says she went to Jesus with a preconceived thought of her own. IF I can just touch him! The impossible will happen! Then what happened; Jesus felt the healing power go out of him. It doesn't say that he saw the woman come up. It doesn't say he knew she was about to touch him. In fact he stopped and looked around to see who the healing power went out to. This woman literally interrupted God! Think about it; he was on the way to do something else. And she pressed in despite the odds, despite her sickness, despite the crowd. With just one thought; "touch Him and be healed!"

Faith is pressing in to God! It is faith that a Centurion man has when he knows Jesus can just speak a word. Without him needing to be physically present. It is faith that a sick woman has that presses in despite the odds with a single thought; "just touch his clothes and be healed!". We could talk about the faith that a completely paralyzed man and his friends had, when they tore a hole in the roof over Jesus head. Then lowered the paralyzed man down before him. We have to get to a place where we stop thinking and start believing! Trying to use the natural to understand the supernatural of God will never result in the impossible.

"God does not want you to be natural people. He wants you to be people who will cut through anything. He wants you to be born into His life. The new birth life, the life of God. Christ in you

the hope of glory." - Smith Wigglesworth

Until we become greater than ourselves; until we stop measuring ourselves by ourselves, the impossible will always be just out of our reach. Jesus said that faith as small as a mustard seed could move mountains. He spoke to a fig tree that had no fruit, and it withered and died. His disciples were astonished by it! Jesus responded by saying that if they believed in their heart, whatever they asked for they would have. Jesus would later tell them that they would see and do greater things than even that, if they had just a little faith. Having faith is not the obstacle; defeating the doubt in our minds the moment we need faith usually is. The most important point I can make here is overcoming self. Faith is not fear. Faith is not an emotion or a feeling. Faith does not change based on circumstance. Faith is believing that God is who He says He is, and will do what He says He will do. Faith is a fact! It's not subject to interpretation or opinion. It is partnering with God to see His Kingdom come and His will done. Today. Right now! For you, for me, for every single living human being. When you walk in desperation for God; there is no plan B. Our faith is made alive in our actions. Because like the sick woman, you pressed in with a belief! This is true faith; the impossible is here to become reality. God always is. He just exists. When we have faith, we take our beliefs to Him. And we are basically either saying "I want what you are." - or - "That's just too impossible for me." Even Jesus told the Centurion's friends "Go, it will be done as you have believed". Jesus wasn't wondering if it could be done. He didn’t need to be convinced that the impossible request was possible. He said it was done because the Centurion believed it would be. The Centurion’s faith was aligned with the character and nature of God. To give life, hope, and destiny back to the one who needed it.

"I find men who might be used by God to subdue kingdoms are defeated by allowing the suggestions of Satan to dethrone their better knowledge of the power of God." - Smith Wigglesworth

"Don't stumble at the Word. If Jesus says anything, if the Word conveys anything to your mind, don't stumble at the Word. Believe that God is greater than you are, greater than your heart , greater than your mind, and can establish you in righteousness even when your thoughts and your knowledge are absolutely against it." - Smith Wigglesworth

We have to be greater than our thoughts. Greater than our feelings. We have to know that when God says He withholds no good thing from those who believe; that includes the impossible! The Apostle Paul said "To live is Christ and to die is gain". When you are desperate for God, there is no room for doubt. Because you have touched something that is beyond your ability to describe or understand. And when you grab hold of that, your mustard seed blooms into a full blown tree. A taste of God is enough to realize the impossible, because you have touched the one who created it all. Be desperate friends. Don't settle for the status quo!

"What does being in God's presence do? It dares me to believe all that God says; it assists me

in laying hold of the promises." - Smith Wigglesworth
